Meet the Kentucky Team
Bellwether Real Estate Capital LLC, is merging with Enterprise Community Investment, Inc.'s Multifamily Mortgage Finance business. The new company, Bellwether Enterprise Real Estate Capital, will offer greater geographic reach and product offerings.
The Kentucky production team has been working together for over 15 years and has averaged an annual loan production volume of nearly $150 million. This team brings solid experience and borrower relationships in representing the Kentucky markets.
Stephen P. Pewitt, Senior Vice President: 859-223-7771
Steve has more than 25 years experience in commercial real estate, particularly the area of financing, loan servicing, underwriting and management. In 1991, Steve and a partner negotiated the acquisition of a $300 million portfolio from National City Bank and began Mortgage Company of Kentucky; he served as Senior Vice President and remained a principal of Mortgage Company of Kentucky until its acquisition by Capstone. Steve was employed as a member of the production team for three years each with W. Lyman Case & Company and Bright Mortgage and began his career servicing commercial mortgages with Kentucky Mortgage Company. Steve is a 1977 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Steve focuses on debt placement, single-tenant credit real estate sales and institutional investments.
Mark DeLauter, Senior Vice President: 859-223-7771
Mark is a 17-year veteran of the mortgage banking industry. Prior to joining Mortgage Company of Kentucky in 1994, Mark was associated with a commercial mortgage brokerage company in Lexington, Kentucky for 5 years. In addition to Kentucky and neighboring markets, Mark has financed properties in California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, North and South Carolina and Maryland. An early career included several lending positions with One Valley Bank of West Virginia where Mark concluded his 13-year commercial banking career as Vice President of Real Estate and Commercial Lending. He is also a licensed real estate sales associate in the State of Kentucky. A native of Frederick, Maryland, Mark received his BBA in Accounting/Finance from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia in 1975.
William G. Leffew, Senior Vice President: 502-581-9912
Bill joined Bellwether in June 2011. He has 20 years of experience in commercial real estate as a construction lender with several super-regional banks including KeyBank, PNC Bank, US Bank and AmSouth, as a special assets officer at Commonwealth Bank and Trust Company and as a mortgage banker at PNS Realty Partners and Holliday Fenoglio Fowler. During that time period, Bill originated over $1 billion in construction and permanent debt products. He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor's Degree in Finance. Bill has focused his career on commercial real estate as a loan production officer opening up markets in Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana.
